  31. There is no need for an ENCAP Ether device under Linux, as Linux has
  32. native AX.25 . FTP sunacm.swan.ac.uk and look under /pub/Linux/Radio,
  33. or just wait for the next Debian distribution which will include a
  34. turnkey kernel AX.25 system that you don't have to compile.

  36. By the way, maybe we shouldn't be making so much fun of Gerry's research
  37. grant. After all, it is TAMU's cash cow.

  54. AX.25 in the kernel has nothing to do with encap under Linux if what the
  55. person wants is IPIP encapsulation. I have IPIP encap under Linux on 2
  56. machines and sometimes I have AX.25 in kernel, sometimes not.   This is
  57. assuming though that this is what the person really wants, the message
  58. was kinda vague.

  60. BTW, IPIP encap is done via a daemon on my system, not in the kernel like
  61. I wish it was :-)
